The Memorial of Thomas BEATY Humbly Sheweth That your Memorialist was a Soldier in the Queens Rangers Under Coll. SIMCOE two years and Eight month: and Receving a wound in his Right Knee at the Battle of Monmouth wich Renderd him unCapable of his Duty and at his Own Request was Discharg'd and Imbark'd at New York in the 21st Company of Emegrants Under the Comand of Peter BERTON and Arived in St. Johns in this Province the 23 day of June 1783 from wich Time your Memmorelist has bin in Several Draffts for Lands But has bin Missfortunet in Drawing Blancks having Now found a Pease [of] Land in the Passeback River Neare Bellile Bay: your Memorelist thare for Humbly Beags that your Exelency will be Pleasd. To Lett him have a Lott of Land in the Passeback River Joyning No: 14 for him Self & Family. Your Memmorelist Will Ever be in Duty Bound to Pray--
