Prince of Wales' American Regiment
Bat & Forrage Money

Sir

I have the honor to acquaint yr. Excelly. that on calling on the Quartermaster Generals office for my Bat & forrage money now issuing, I am told I can only receive it as Colonel of the Prince of Wales's Amn. Regiment;-

But upon a supposition that I am intitled to receive it agreable to the Rank I have the honor to hold in his Majestys Service, I beg leave to request yr. Excelly. would be pleased to direct the Quar. Mastr. General to Issue it to me as Brigr. General, as I cannot in Justice to myself and to the officers of the same rank with me receive it on any other footing;-

I have the honor to be with the greatest respect
Your Excellencys,
Most Obedient
and most humble
Servant
Montfort BROWNE
