I do hereby Certify that a Negro Man named Harry the property of Mr. GAILLIARD was frequently employed as a Spy by order of Lord RAWDON, in which capacity He was very serviceable; & that after his Lordships departure He was employed in the same manner for the late Commandant Lt. Col. BALFOUR & enrolled as a Guide in the Qr. Mr. Genl. Department. That being sent out from Monck’s Corner for intelligence He was taken Prisoner by Marion’s party, by whom He was beheaded & his head set upon a Stake, when Genl. Gould's Army passed the Greenland Swamp.
