Sir,

The above is the amount of the within note from my Brother, the Bearer Christian LOWNEAR brought it in this instant, he was prevented getting over yesterday by the Skirmishing of the Rebels & Refugees, Great Numbers are taken up in Jersey.

The Bearer brought the inclosed in a button.

We shall probably hear from him & DePEYSTER in answer to the Queries tomorrow, as they were together making the necessary Inquiries, when the Bearer left them.

I beg you will dispatch him & pay him two Guineas which they promised him. He may perhaps be wanted as I am told CADMUS is obliged to Secret himself.
