Orders

Head Quarters Halifax 20th April 1776

3d

You are to examine all Strolers, or Idle Persons, belonging either to the Navy or Army, and Detain such as have no Passes, untill you receive Orders from Head Quarters, how to dispose of them.

2d

In case of the appearance of any Privateers upon the Coast, you will immediately report it to the Commander in Chief.

1st

You are to Cooperate with the Civil Magistrate, to preserve Peace & order, in, and about your Quarters.

4th

You will from time to time Report, everything you shall judge necessary for the Commander in Chiefs Information.
