King's American Regiment
Rescue of Capt. McAlpine

New-York, March 10, 1777.

Captain McALPINE, a brave and hearty Friend to his King and Country, and some Time ago confined in the Goal of Poughkeepsie in Dutchess County, on Suspicion of inlisting Men for his Majesty's Service, and 'twas thought would have been executed had he been brought to a Trial.

This induced his Friends about that Country to attempt a Rescue, which Nineteen of them bravely effected, bringing in their Arms, &c.

They were 26 days on their Journey.

They have now joined Colonel FANNING's Corps on Long-Island.
