Whitehall 21st January 1783

Sir

The King having been pleased to direct, that The King's American Regiment of Foot, commanded by Colonel Edmund FANNING should be placed on the British Establishment agreeable to the Numbers mentioned in the inclosed Letter;

I am to signify to you His Majesty's Pleasure that you do take the necessary Steps for placing the said Regiment on the British Establishment accordingly.
