Commander in Chief's Thanks

Head-Quarters, New York,
Thursday, 29 August 1782.

The COMMANDER IN CHIEF returns Lieutenant-Colonel THOMPSON and the OFFICERS, of the King's American Dragoons, his THANKS, for the great exertions they have made in compleating that Regiment, according to the Proposals transmitted by Lord George GERMAIN, in his letter to Sir Henry CLINTON, of the 7th of June, 1789 [sic - 1780], and considers them as intitled to permanent Rank in America.
